Testimonials
“I have known Christa for several years! We started working together during our residency, and we also completed our training together to become Registered Play Therapists and CSACs. Christa’s ability to connect with others, her creativity, and her ability to think outside the box have always amazed me! Christa is also an amazing human being, and she has so much to add to our field. I’m sure that everyone who has worked with her has felt inspired!”
— Renata Klosterman
“Christa was my supervisor while I was a resident in counseling, and working with her has been genuinely meaningful. She shows up with steady compassion and a deep passion for the community and for every person she serves, and her breadth of knowledge brings both clarity and confidence to the field. What stays with me most is how intentionally she supports growth—she advocates for clients while also investing in her supervisees with care, guidance, and encouragement.”
— Aundrea M. Travis, LPC
“Christa is not only a seasoned mental health therapist but also a highly skilled content development and training specialist. Throughout our collaboration on multiple types of projects, her attention to detail and professionalism were consistent assets. Her true care, concern, and passion for helping others shine through in her interactions with others and her work.”

Meet Christa
Christa Butler, MS, LPC, RPT-S, PMH-C, is the founder and lead consultant of Nurtured to Thrive Wellness Group, a consulting and education firm specializing in children’s mental health, maternal mental health, and family-centered systems of care.
Christa brings extensive professional experience supporting children, families, and women across clinical, community, and organizational settings. Her background in play therapy, perinatal and maternal mental health, and family systems work provides a strong foundation for understanding how caregiving environments, organizational practices, and community structures impact individual and collective well-being.
Over the course of her career, Christa recognized the need for approaches that move beyond individual treatment to address prevention, education, and system-level support. This insight led her to intentionally transition from direct clinical services to organizational consulting, professional training, and program development. Today, she partners with schools, nonprofits, and community-based organizations to strengthen staff capacity, enhance family- and mother-centered programming, and integrate culturally responsive, trauma-informed practices.
Through Nurtured to Thrive Wellness Group, Christa provides customized consulting, workforce training, parenting and maternal education, and the development of practical resources that support emotional wellness across the maternal and caregiving lifespan. Her work is grounded in evidence-informed practice, equity, and sustainability, with a particular focus on improving outcomes for children and families—especially those who have been historically underserved.
